Charming Kingussie getaway 🌄

The welcome was so warm, reminded me of home straight away! Had a lekker chat with the owners about local spots. My room was super cozy, like a real gem after a long day of exploring. The recommendations for outdoor spots were spot on!

The shower pressure was a bit weak, but nothing to write home about.

I was offered a gorgeous and traditional breakfast with numerous options available.

The food was healthy, with a wide array of options. This was a magnificent and stunning location adjacent to the train station, Kingussie, which itself is a beautiful town, and restaurants, a pub and a supermarket. Fast food restaurant Cantonese & Peking was located 20 minutes walk away.

The layout can feel odd. Some rooms lack ensuites, and one had a bath right in the room. The mattress in Room 7 felt old and saggy, and noise from communal areas disturbed sleep with voices and TV sounds echoing into the night.

The hosts. I appreciated the comfortable and clean room. Breakfast was highlight, with generous portions and quality options. The shower pressure was inconsistent. The outdated decor had a worn feeling, diminishing the overall charm. It needs a refreshing touch to enhance the experience. Another point to note is the late check-in policy seemed quite strict. The approach left me feeling a bit anxious when caught in traffic.

We did face an issue with a strong smell of pets when we entered, a bit off-putting at first.

Despite these minor inconveniences, the warm hospitality of the hosts creates a cute atmosphere.

The cozy Triple Room had everything. Tea facilities, a comfy bed, and lovely pet interactions.

Had a lovely stay! The owner was so accommodating, and I loved relaxing in the garden area and enjoying the sun terrace. The shower pressure could have been better, but it didn’t ruin my experience at all. 😊

The breakfasts at Avondale House were traditional and sensational with many options available. the accommodation is centrally located, very close to shops.
